Title: RE: [cfaussie] Re: OT: Game development

On a side note,

I just walked out of a HR - Policy & Conduct meeting just then. Usual stuff, talk about work place harassment etc, but it occurred to me now (looking back and armed with the information) - I so could of sued some of these web agencies for workplace harassment.

In that an employer is not allowed for example to "abuse you" or imply certain behaviour / defamatory remarks.. Eg " That employee XYZ is totally useless, he couldn't find his way out of a wet paper bag" to other co-workers.. Is actually deemed offensive behaviour as until you can support that statement with evidence. well you're now in trouble.

Same with swearing or anything that insights "hate". So if your in a situation now where you're being sworn at regardless of the tone if you find it offensive, that's a breech of legislation (in QLD anyway).

- I've had objects thrown at myself and our my team (except TQ were it was aok.. I mean NERF BALL FIGHTS ROX!)
- I've watched a jnr programmer get sworn at, and humiliated (i.e. jokes)
- I've been yelled at / sworn at over the phone and in the work place along with other team members.
- I've had work sabotaged in that deliberately held back information so that I would look incompetent - which again is in breech (didn't know that one.. )

Etc

Also, hours worked. In Australia you're only allowed to work a certain amount of hours per week, In that it's covered under work place health & safety. So yeah.. Try that crap EA now :) hehehe

Scott.
