Hi folks,

I can't seem to crack this mail server problem and I wondered if somebody
could help me out.

We have a dev box running Windows 2003 and CFMX. The mail server is
configured within CFAdministrator as mailhost.barclays.co.uk and uses port
25. All CF generated e-mails work perfectly.

The production box running Windows 2000 and CFMX has the mail server setting
configured in exactly the same way and sits on the same network however, it
will not send emails via mailhost.barclays.co.uk. The CF Administrator log
files show the following error:

Unknown SMTP host: mailhost.barclays.co.uk; nested exception is:
java.net.UnknownHostException: mailhost.barclays.co.uk

Any ideas why the live box can't see mailhost.barclays.co.uk?

The major difference between the two set ups is that the dev box uses
ColdFusion's in-built webserver and the production box uses IIS 3.0. I'm
guessing it's an IIS setting I need to change and I've had a tinker around
but without any luck. A mince pie in the post to anyone who can help.

Thanks in advance for your help and a happy new year to you all

Neil
