The dowloads all say 'beta' or 'rc' so not quite production standard on win32 yet I guess but good to see it moving to the platform.

Thanks,

Is PostgreSQL still unix only?

no, not at all. eg:

http://wwwmaster.postgresql.org/ftp/win32
(home: http://www.postgresql.org)

there are usually 3 different strands of thought in choosing a db vendor
 - the "branding" for the customer to notice
 - performance/security (inc transaction "strength", etc and a nod to db
driver availability)
 - development ease/tools/support, etc (this is all I really care
about!)

tools?

c'mon postgreSQL devotees... speakup!
