go straight to 4.
4 is what 3 should have been,

just build a small app with a few circuits and you'll be off
its the best way to learn,
I found it faster to learn by doing then reading the book lol 
although I never really did any FB3 but I have a basic understanding
off the differences.

just give 4 a whack, 

if you wanna pick it up super quick just use 1 circuit and 1 circuit.xml file
then once ya have half a idea what your doing do it the proper way.

so yeah I say 4.
