I started setting up cvsnt on our dev servers last month with tortoise cvs for the client, but ran into a few problems with authentication. I'll hopefully get time in the next week or so to look at it again. Do you know of any helpful resources for setup and config of cvs?

You should be able to get the version control to fill in most of these. Also dump the history in preference for a good reporting tool for your version control such as CVS Monitor for CVS:
