The request attribute is a string…
this is what getTypeFromColType is returning. In which case, why would it work by
setting coltype separately? Has anyone tried calling a function using
a function as an attribute like I have done in Coldfusion 7? Does it work? Am I
just a special case (without being nasty)? Cheers. Gareth. -----Original Message----- Gareth, This is
a long shot and it seems like that the problem lies in type casting,
getCFSQLType requires a certain attribute type that is not being return from
getTypeFromColType... Long shot but that's what it appears to be!!

On Behalf Of Gareth Edwards Anyone know why this might be? Same
code works in Coldfusion 6.1. <!--- THIS DOES WORK -à <cfset coltype =
getTypeFromColType(trim(qry.coltype))> <cfset
colStruct[colname].cfsqltype = Lcase(getCFSQLType(coltype))> <!--- THIS DOESN’T WORK <cfset
colStruct[colname].cfsqltype =
Lcase(getCFSQLType(getTypeFromColType(trim(qry.coltype))))> -à The second returns an error saying
that the required attribute “type” for getCFSQLType() is required
but was not passed in. Gareth Edwards Coldfusion
