What do you mean by 'successful'?  Do you mean just leaving your server?  Does bounced count?

I just have an INSERT query right after the cfmail inside the cfloop, and that way I can log the mail against the user and later query emails sent against user demographics.  To be most accurate, I suppose you could BCC an email box and the cfpop it, but that seems a bit overkill to me.  As always, I am sure there is some other "best practice" method.  (sorry, couldn't resist)

Subject: [cfaussie] cfmail logging

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has any bright ideas on the best way of determining whether or not an email has been sent or not...

I am in the process of building a mailout app which will do controlled bursts of mail to 'approved' recipients.

I am wanting to have an entry in the database that records whether or not an email sent using the CFMAIL tag was successful or not?  Any ideas?

I hope this makes sense, my brain is mush and I am coming down with a cold that has been destroying our workplace! *sniff* *skull another litre of OJ*

Thanks
