We actually had this discussion yesterday, and pretty much came up with no 
"magic answer", except that memory is cheap :)

I don't know what the "footprint" of a component is, but I wouldn't think 
it would be the actual filesize. Have you got hundreds of components in 
memory now? What is the memory jump from a booted server to having all 
your singletons in memory?
