Correct. In the latest nightly build you can use the File Explorer view to browse any file in the file system. You can also add FTP sites and browse to them in the same way. Basically the same type of thing you can do in the Homesite file view. It's missing some features like the ability to copy, create, move files, but if you want to open file for a quick edit that's what it's there for.
