Cold Fusion confusion for govt site
Chris Jenkins
MARCH 30, 2005
A GLITCH in the Cold Fusion web content system has seen the federal
Government's central procurement website down for much of the day.

The glitch, which appeared this morning, saw the website displaying a
message that the evaluation copy of Cold Fusion being used to publish
the www.tenders.gov.au site had expired.

Despite the message, site owner the Australian Government Information
Management Office (AGIMO) held a valid full licence for the
Macromedia-made product, and was working to determine why the message
had appeared, a spokesman said.

With no requests for tender due to be published today, a message that
the site was temporarily unavailable had been put up to avoid
confusion, he said.

"We are talking to Macromedia about what it is, how it might have come
about and how we can fix it," he said.

Service had been restored by the afternoon.

Hands up if you think this was a muck-up by internal IT staff and they
are blame shifting?

Regards,

Jon
