Agreed.

I'm sure I overlooked many more things Flash has done well, hell look
at Corda Popcharts and you'll make any exec in a large corporation
weak in the knees.

Nothing like animated graphs to keep the money counters happy.

Flash is a damn kickbutt product but it needs a more well defined
strategy behind as it seems like its being poked and pulled in 80
different ways and its hard in many ways to translate all of its uses
into one strategy. Its got more legs then i can count and there needs
to be examples clearly marked out in terms of "this is flash and
central combined" - "this is flash and coldfusion combined" - "this is
flash and flex combined" - "this is flash and dvd machines combined"

list goes on but point to me where that information exist on
Macromedia.com and i'll be shocked.. showcases aren't definitive i
find them quite verbose - lots of noise no real connection of dots if
you catch my meaning.
