If you read the documentation for CFMX / Java interop very carefully -
particularly about sharing session and application scope - you'll see
a way to access those application variables without resorting to
unsupported Java classes... In fact, it was even discussed (or at
least hinted at) on this very list about a month ago... look for Jamie
Lawrence's post on February 26th... I just verified that it works on
both CF6.1 and CF7...
