Andrew,
The two ways of going about this would be:
1. Use Visual Studio and add a web reference
2. Generate a proxy class with command line tools from the .net SDK
Since I have access to VS I haven't had to generate a proxy class via command line but I have heard it can be a hassel. With VS you can browse the object generated (in Object Browser) and see what data type it is after.
