The setup process involves going to the Client Network utility, setting up the alias, then in EM, adding a new database registration and entering the login details.. surely all this info gets stored somewhere?
A quick search in the registry of my machine brought up this set of keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\Client
Looks like the right stuff so an (edited) export/import of this lot should do.
