Scotty Barnes actually having a point? LOL not likely - at least not yet -
not yet (set me free).

I've spent far too long lately playing with the new "features" of ColdFusion
MX 7.

The new Flash forms in ColdFusion MX 7 seemed, at least initially, awesome.

After much fark arseing about however it has proven to not be the case. Here
are some of my early impressions of what should have been a better (and bug
free) implementation of better than average forms...

1. MSIE (yep) do not use it apart from the update thing (and some sites
DEMAND the use of MSIE) not me. Anyway MSIE really dislikes Flash (or any
SWF). This problem has got me by the balls to the point I will say for
version 1.0 of ColdCalendar for CFMX 7 - piss off MSIE. (works great for
Firefox 1.0.3, Opera 8.0 etc) sheesh!

2. After dabbling with the new "Verity" features of CFMX was surprised at
how easy it is to do (compared to the last 6 versions at least) and fast!
However the documentation is appalling - I mean so bad - but the new DevNet
article by Tom Jordahl helped but did not mention that MOST fields are not
available if indexing a QUERY and not CONTENT.

3. Trying to pass the "key" value from a Flash grid propagated from a
CFSEARCH query sends "undefined". Not very useful.

I thing Flash forms have a long way to go.

I... Must.... Stop.... Before I mention the many other "issues" that should
not have made it into a "release" product. Rushed springs to mind.
