Hey Ryan We are using Ant as much as possible for deployment these days, along with Subversion (or CVS) it takes a lot of the margin for error out of the process and makes it a lot quicker.
The things that we are getting stuck on at the moment is how to deloy partial builds. For example if I have a site with 100 files and I change 3 of them and remove one other file - my build process is not smart enough to just upload the 3 changed files and delete the other one - it basically makes a full build and uploads the lot. Ant is definitely worth looking into though - it takes a while to get productive with it, but once you do its a life saver.
