Hi guys,

A client has just given me some code for a site that appears to be
encrypted. I've put it up on a dev server and it's throwing a big fat
syntax error. I've tried decrypting the templates with the decrypt
utility (http://www.maxfusion.co.uk/freebies.cfm) but it tells me it's
not an encrypted template. Looking at it in Notepad, it doesn't seem
to be to me either - in index.cfm for example I have a few hundred of
the "" character, then a cfinclude tag and a couple of </cfcase>
tags, then a whole stack of garbage characters.

Does anyone know, did the encryption scheme change between CF5 and
CFMX or CFMX7? Could that be it? It seems like it's just mangled to
me, seeing as there are intelligible fragments of CF code in there.

By the way, the client has paid for the code to be developed - from
the sounds of it, it should have been created as a static site anyway
- but become disenchanted with the developer, so I'm not stealing it
or anything :)

Any ideas on how to proceed greatly appreciated - other than having
the client call the developer, which will be what I do next if I can't
work it out.

Cheers!
