My solution is shocking to say the least. It's one of those things that you know is about as non-best practice as it gets, but it works. I anticipate about 2 to 3 rebuilds on the form engine before I go to market (like Safeway, or maybe Coles). I am creating the form fields and the layout, complete with HTML tags, in the cffunction and then passing it all in a variable back into my page via innerHTML. It is not pretty, as I am generating layout in my data layer, but Ajax is messing with my framework a bit. I was looking at just passing an array and rendering the form fields using JavaScript. The eventual solution may be passing XML from the Ajax engine and processing the XML with the JavaScript. Not that I know what any of that means...
