Hey Badal, As long as you have your own server (not a shared one), you could execute a command line based virus scanner using the <CFEXECUTE> tag. I don't know if Coldfusion can read back error levels, but I do know that both can delete or clean a file automatically if they do find a virus. For example, you could have cfexecute run the command "SCAN.EXE #myFile.filename# /c /d" which for my virus scanner would attempt to clean the file first, than delete the file if it can't clean it.
Hope that helps. -Nick -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tyagi, Badal Sent: Wednesday, March 26, 2003 12:08 AM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: [CFCDev] SCAN Upload file Hello everybody, I have to upload an Excel file from user's machine to server, but the prior requirement is to SCAN this file and if any virus is detected the user will be prompted an appropriate message. How do I do this, do I have to execute some anti-virus DLL ??? OR any other method available, I'm totally blank on this issue. If anyone of you have done this before then please help me. I'm running Win 2K, CF5.0 regards, badal Tyagi, HCL Perot Systems, Noida, India ---------------------------------------------------------- You are subscribed to cfcdev.
