Not a book, but I treat it as one. There are some amazing folk on this list, so you might want to put this in your favorites!

( www.forta.com ) If you are looking ot learn CFCs (coldfusion components... www.techspedition.com ) check out the book by Hal Helms... that is also a good place to start for that topic. Beyond that ... welcome to the CF World! If you want to do nTier (multi-Tier) development where you have clear seperation of layers... I am completing a programming methodology that uses CFCs for objects modeling and a core application for managing logic and presentation. (The standard layers to any multi-tier are data, logic, and presentation). The data is connected to through the CFCs... which allows for terriffic code reuse. You can reuse the components for web services, flash remoting, etc. You can also update the component without changing the application because the "functional interface" allows standardized connections without functional logic dependencies. (In other words... if your component is connecting to an XML file now... and you need to connect to a database now... rewrite a component with the same interface... there you go. You don't need to rewrite the core app... the common interface takes care of integration.) John Farrar PS If you are interested in the SOS product... it will be released soon for free. SOS (Shared Open Source) I will be producing a training video that will be very cost effective also for teaching the basics. The basics training will be free to copy also! I won't give away everything I do... but this will be a GNU style product. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, August 06, 2003 9:46 AM Subject: [CFCDev] CF Book Recommendations > Hi all from a sweaty UK! > > I've recently (about 2 months) got into ColdFusion and have taken a shine to > it.
