displayName is used by the cfcexplorer.cfc which is part of the cf admin. Just request a CFC directly on the URL, without supplying a method name, and it will prompt you for the RDS or CF Admin password, and then show you documentation for the entire CFC. Very handy. The 'hint' is present for the same purpose.
displayName is useful because in CFMX (pre 6.1) CFC's had to be named all lowercase, but you might wnat the documentation to be cased differently. For instance display 'SecurityManager', while the filename is 'securitymanager.cfc'. barneyb --- Barney Boisvert, Senior Development Engineer AudienceCentral [EMAIL PROTECTED] voice : 360.756.8080 x12 fax : 360.647.5351 www.audiencecentral.com > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Behalf Of Gary Menzel > Sent: Monday, September 08, 2003 3:46 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: RE: [CFCDev] DisplayNames and Hints > > > > Back to the question at hand...
