Thanks guys,

Yeah I been going back and forth on using the built-in stuff,
particularly for roles. I'm just a little hesitant seeing as I haven't
used it much and don't want to get cornered in...but this is a small app
so I can always make changes on the fly. Will experiment some.

It will work. You could specify a returntype of User and it would work
too as that User will be the base class.

One thing I'd like to mention, you should probably take advantage of the
built in plumbing for cfmx cfc security which, might disolve the need
for building a UserManger depending on how you're doing stuff. More
extensible for flash etc, not reinventing the wheel, etc.
