I have my components directory outside the webroot with a components mapping setup to point to this folder.
What do you mean by "components mapping"?
How can I get it to where I can view the components in the component invoker?
"component invoker"? Do you mean the component browser that ships with CFMX?

We have our top-level components directory on the Custom Tag Paths list and we can view all of those components with the component browser.
