That's probably the easiest way - it's how macromedia.com's team works, for example. And that, after all, is why the developer edition is free! :)

CFC framework. Otherwise, some apps are using the wrong (maybe
outdated) CFCs
Yes, that's my feeling. Once you start working with an application framework, versioning becomes very important and so does upgrading systems. Although macromedia.com is not "shared hosting", we have a number of separate applications that rely on a single shared instance of Mach II so any changes to that framework have to be very carefully planned and QA'd!
