With CFCs, more than any other feature (although locking in CF 4x comes
close) there are really just way too many surprises and not enough solid,
detailed information from MM.

Again, a fair point. I agree that there are a lot of unwritten assumptions about CFC behavior (on both sides - but, yes, the burden is on Macromedia and now, perhaps, New Atlanta to document those assumptions).
