Not that I'm not enjoying the rest of this thread, but did this particular poitn ever get answered officially? I'd really be curious to know if I should "scope" code like this.
I don't think I can tell what the original question is anymore. Is it whether or not we should be scoping "tag" scopes like CFQUERY, or whether all other variables should be scoped. The answer to the latter is yes, but I'm not sure about the former. If this is indeed the question at hand, I can get it answered.
