I can say I know that feeling :-)

Are you familiar with Design Patterns? This book could help you figuring out
many potential strategies:

Data Access Patterns: Database Interactions in Object-Oriented Applications
by Clifton Nock
Paperback - 468 pages (September 2003)
Addison-Wesley
ISBN: 0131401572

In case you are still new to Design Patterns (I am a newbie myself), this
could be a good opportunity to get started. A friendly introduction I would
reccomend is:

Design Patterns Explained: A New Perspective on Object-Oriented Design
by Alan Shalloway, James R. Trott
Paperback - 334 pages (July 2001)
Addison-Wesley
ISBN: 0201715945
