You're right, in that a typical unit test won't help you identify synchronization issues. Load testing won't really identify them directly, either - load testing is a blunt instrument, really. It might help you identify the fact that you have problems, and the general vicinity of those problems, but that's about it. It might be possible to build a unit test harness that can test for thread safety, but it strikes me as a difficult task in CF.
