Which was entirely how this *sidebar* arose in the first place. The mere fact that MM document erroneous behaviour doesn't mitigate the fact the behaviour is wrong in the first place. I agree that the behaviour we were actually discussing - the WDDX thing - *isn't* "erroneous", just "unexpected" by me (and, IMO, not the most sensible; YMMV, which is also fine IMO. Issue resolved). Sean suggested I file an enhancement request if I felt like it, to which I replied that there was no point for two reasons: 1) I concede it's just not necessary. The current behaviour is fine; 2) MM were unlikely to change it anyhow, because "it ain't broke"; even with stuff that *is* broke, it's been pointed out that they won't "fix" something if it will break code that relies on it working the (erroneous) way.
