I've already acknowledged all that in my posts and offered a few ideas on
how to deal with it. After the discussion, the best seems to me to simply
recognize the inherent cost of adding xml format. It's good for MM to be
aware of how their technology is being used/abused. Now that we've figured a
way to use one component function 2 ways and ouput directly without xml
tacked on, I'm fine with it. (But I'm seeing a bug under noted conditions
that is outputting an empty wddx packet when nothing is returned, and that
should be looked at.)

All I can add beyond that is: I don't care about the int() function ;-)

Actually, as he replied to my post, I would like to add as an aside that I
greatly appreciate the time and effort Sean Corfield puts into answering
questions, when I'm sure he's already incredibly busy at MM. I've lurked on
many lists and learned a tremendous amount from his posts, and his website.
He's a tremendous asset to CF and MM. Thank you, Sean.
