If the component doesn't fill your needs then it's like CFScript. Many CF developers don't see the need for CFScript... others like me enjoy it. If the functions serves others there is no need to be a web blanket and douse others enjoyment of software development and doing things other ways. (And I could requote you... but it the thread may debate what you expressed and what you wanted. I understand you may not want something more like Benjamine was requesting... but there is no cause to create a debate over this. If you don't like an implementation... build your own.) We need to all do each other a favor and not let this esculate into a debate of the "perfect" and "flawed" processes. On gentilman showed how to improve the performance of the custom tag exponentialy! We need to provide alternatives... but not dampen the spirit of creativity! If you have a way that is working for you, share it. If you like fusebox 2 or 3 or 4... use it. If you like Machii use it. If someone likes to just use Dreamweaver... it's not my style to not use a methodology. I will share to him why I built SOS... but that doesn't make Dreamweaver sights bad or misplaced. In our opinion (which ever style we use) our method has advantages. Let's enjoy the variety of knowledge rather than all of us trying to be missionary protectors of the ignorant. Rather let's throw our concepts at the unlearned like the guys just did for me on the "this" scope issue with custom tags. Even us veterans can learn... with facts and examples let people choose and enjoy programming. If something gets the job done... great!
