So, "app.sub.unexpected" would be an error code?
What type do you use for exceptions you throw from a CFC?
Or if "app.sub.unexpected" is they type, do you use an error code?
Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions, by the way. I really appreciate how much time you spend helping out everyone.

Per the guidelines:
For cffunction, if the function throws any exceptions, the hint attribute should have "<br />Throws: document any exceptions that the function can throw" at the end of the hint."
So a hint might look like:
hint="I perform some task.<br />Throws: app.sub.failure if we can't get the data, app.sub.unexpected if the data has an unexpected value."
