That's exactly the configuration we run, with several servers in the WLB
cluster. It works (and has worked) perfectly for us for four or more years.
As long as you don't mind using affinity, which is required if you use CF
Sessions, you shouldn't have any problems.

Removing the cfm mapping could cause problems - IIS needs to know how to
process that file in order to call CF. Why would you want to remove the
mapping? There are other (better) ways of preventing other sites from
accessing a given site on IIS.

Subject: [CFCDev] Load Balancing CF7 Standard on Windows 2003

Since it is becoming almost impossible to convince my management to
purchase CF Enterprise, I need to stick with CF 7 Standard, but on two
servers that are load-balanced on Windows Server 2003.

I know this isn't the best alternative, but will there be any major
problems doing it this way?

I'm aware of no sandboxes and shared mappings, but I intend on removing
the IIS extension mappings (.cfm, .cfc, etc) to prevent other sites from
accessing CF on this server.

Also, I'm a aware of BlueDragon, but I have not had time to look at it,
nor do I think there will be time to look at it before I am forced into
migrating to different servers.

Thanks
M!ke
