This seems to be solved now.
I switched on whitespace suppression in the CF admin..... and suddenly everything went back to normal.
The strange thing is that switching it off again does not appear to be causing the issue to reappear...
Does anyone know if there is any link between OUTPUT="false" and the CF admin setting ?
The first thing that I tried when I found the problem was to use OUTPUT="false" on all the methods, however it did not have any effect.
I really hate not knowing why something is happenning though... and not being able to reproduce it now leaves me a little unnerved...
