Well, it is a pretty obvious takeover. Freehand, Flashpaper, Fireworks
are all products in the same area as Illustrator and Adobe PDF. The only
thing is, nobody really saw it coming.

In the past, Adobe also had a competing product for Flash, but that
didn't work out very well and was put off the market pretty quick.
Overall, the products of both companies have a match, and Macromedia
sure needs some Adobe budget muscles.

It seems the CF product line may be getting extra budget for marketing.
Maybe we have a nice feathered CF logo in spring 2005. I don't think
this acquisition is sad, I think Macromedia really needs a strong
partner and Adobe clearly is one.
