Have you found the material about Tartan yet? The documentation is sparse
but the guys in the know seem to really like it.

Subject: [CFCDev] MVC - Concept and Reality within Coldfusion

Guys / Gals,

I have been trying to get my head around the concept of MVC, I have read
and fully understand the concept, but must admit that I am struggling to
come to grips with the methods and integration that would be needed to use
within Coldfusion.

What I am trying to achieve is best practices, and what others are doing.
Here is more what I find a little hard to come to grips. Having learnt Java,
and C# I am very familiar with classes and OOP and yet I struggle to see how
these can work in coldfusion.

So if I have a simple class called Hotel. Which can be extended by Floor,
as well as Elevator. This I understand and comprehend, but the business
logic of storing/retrieving the data (DAO) is getting me a little confused.

So with that in mind, what and how do you guys lay out your business logic,
dao etc. I have a complex Intranet system that could benefit from this
method, but can't use MACH-II as the framework will not be supported by
MACH-II, please don't get me to explain this I have tried to get it to work
with MACH-II just that we are doing things that MACH-II will not cope with.

So with breaking the logic, and views down to a smaller and manageable
package I would like to break down the code we currently have and start
creating a more package orientated approach. But would like to see how
others are approaching this as well.

I know this has probably been discussed to death in here, but haven't had
the time to go searching the archives just yet.

All help will be greatly appreciated.
