Both IssueBean and IssueDAO are in the same directory. This code
worked just fine on my machine, so I don't it is a code issue. I don't
want to change to ANY since the method expects an IssueBean, and all
that farcry stuff.... to be honest, I don't know why his machine is
showing all that stuff in the name of the component - but at the end
of the day - shouldnt the last item in the list (a.b.c) be the only
item that matters?

Yes, that all the matters. I rarely type the whole path in an argument's type if it's expecting an object. It makes your application more portable. The only time I ever type the whole path is when creating objects. I can't remember where I read that (Sean...?).

I don't have a clue why this is happening as I just created a test senerio based on your information and I'm totally perplexed because it works for me. I'm using the same directory as well.

I don't know how CF does it's type checking based on the "." path, however:

farcry.Public.www.lighthousepro.components.IssueBean

It appears to be odd as you mentioned. I'm wondering what are the other mapping on the server are and if one of mappings equals one of the directories listed in the "." path. Might be a bug in type checking but not on CreateObject?

Best,
.Peter
