i appear to have slipped into some kind of parallel monty python universe yesterday. i was helping someone in the forums who was getting an undefined error on assigning a cf var to a java null. my response was just to test for the existence of that cf var (as sean said). his response was that cf was throwing an undefined error *before* he could test & cfcatch wasn't trapping the undefined error either. i somehow managed to reproduce that behavior using a pre-cf 7 java util to create & test for nulls (though apparently not with the snippet i posted). and now i can't break that no matter what i do....this is going to drive me nuts the whole weekend.
