Arrays are actually copied by VALUE, not by reference. Why? I have no idea. But knowing this can be crucial and can explain some very odd behavior.

CFCs (along with arrays, structs, queries and all other object types) are
always copied by reference. Only strings, numbers and the rest of the
primitives are copied by value.
