It's not about "over var-ing", but between var-ing, and using a local
struct (as you illustrated).

  var local = structNew();
  local.myVar = "";
  local.myVar2 = "";

versus

  var myVar = "";
  var myVar2 = "";

Either one will work, but there are strong opinions for each over the
other.  I personally prefer using 'var' over a struct.

Yes, I'm sorry if I wasn't very explicitly clear.  But that's the whole argument...I'm with Barney as I prefer seeing all the "var"s I created instead of a blanke struct.
