Is it possible the yes element of the second radio group is checked because you have it as a required field and it is by default checking the radio button.

Thanks for the reply, but that does not work.  CF requires a Boolean
value for checked attribute. 

Even if I remove all checked attributes from the second radio group, the
yes element is selected because the first radio group has it's yes
element selected. 

Weird.  This has to be a bug.

that should do it; for elements that aren't checked do not provide the
checked attribute at all.
