Please forgive me for butting in but, for our large app we're working
on, the Active record idea just wouldn't work. We can't translate a
table schema directly to a UI because of all the micro-logic in every
layer of the app. The whole thing is like a custom job.

Heck, we can't even sucessfully use a code generator for the DAO's
without going back in to add all the micro-logic manually.

we couldn't use any of that with our app. CF_on_Rails wouldn't work at
all for us.

horses for courses, ppl. I've only reciently began appreciating the
fact that the app dictates the framework (and we only got it 80% right
when we first started 12 months ago...)
