I typically do something like this:
<cffunction name="getSpouse" access="public" returntype="someObj"
output="false"
hint="I get the spouse obj.<br/>
Throws: NotMarriedException when there is no spouse.">
... stuff ...
</cffunction>
The <br/> makes the CFCExplorer output nice and pretty...
