Thanks Cutter,
Actuallyl I've been using model-glue in my intranet for a while now, but I'm one of those people who doesnt like answers like "dont ask HOW it works - it just DOES ok!" So I need to know for my own benefit, how the model-glue framework is doing everything. That's why I set out with the objective of being able to write a simple OOP application with no outside help, no examples, no cut and paste, and no using someone else's code. And i kept at it until I could do it.
I've been using these techniques for a while, by following tutorials, modifying sample apps etc, and I think Model-Glue has lots of merits. It's just that until I took on this personal goal, I didnt really understand what was happening 'under the hood' so to speak.
It's like when I drive a car. I havent got a clue how the engine is working, I'm just glad it does. I didn't want it to be like that with CFCs and OOP style ColdFusion.
Cheers

----------------------------------------------------------Mike,
Congrats! Fun ain't it. Anyway, one technique I have seen (and used) is
to maintain the data persistence from page to page by copying the form
scope into a complex session variable, adding as they go. During the
process the user is notified (by you through different code options)
that "This is Step X of X< br />Review and Edit [dropdown of previous
steps]." Add to this a small disclaimer, either at the beginning of the
process or even on every page, that states "Your application (or
whatever) is not complete until you have completed all x steps." Tell
them at the end of the process that they're finally done.
Now that you've gotten to this point you're gonna start checking out
Mach-II and/or Model-Glue?
