Yup, it looks like a factory, it quacks like a factory... so it must be a duck^H^H^H^Hfactory! Bear in mind (just to complicate matters) that there are actually multiple "factory" patterns (Abstract Factory, Factory Method and various other creational patterns that have some similar aspect, e.g., Builder).
