Typically this is handled by a "token" or "key" that is first obtained from the
webservice (usually it's the result of an authentication call, e.g.
webservice.login(username, password) returns a token). Then subsequent requests
to that webservice include the token as one of the arguments, allowing the
backend code to tie a "session" together.

That's what I can't visualize yet, nor have I found good information one what
one does with the token to tie a session together. Where is the data object
created, where is it stored, how does one know which object goes with witch
token? What is the rough outline of program flow that actually does something
like this?

TIA

What is the basic outline to create a web service that handles some kind
of persistence? So that a consumer can make an initial call that
initiates a web service "object" with data and methods, then make
subsequent calls that can retrieve and manipulate that data?

Is this a complex problem?
