It hasn't changed across two major versions of the product, so I can't imagine they're going to change it in the future (outside of the returntype="component" enhancement request, in which case I don't see it changing so much as being abstracted from us). I don't quite understnad the "dummy class" statement? There already is a base class called component.cfc (hence the WEB-INF.cftags.component path) that all components implicitly inherit, so I'm not sure what a dummy class would accomplish?
