Sure, I'll comment. Changes halfway through is better than all the way through, whereas after the product is completed, adding this functionality may be an entirely new version, new release, new bugs to fix, etc. But realistically, you implement a pattern when you find you have a need for it, not just for future-proofing or practice or whatever kids are doing these days.
