I am using "windows-1256" encoding for the rest of CF pages.

what does "doesn't appear correct" mean? boxes? question marks? mojibake?

first off is that the actual encoding of the text? what's the encoding for the

rest of the cf page? in cf6 & above it defaults to utf-8.
