Title: RE: [CFCDev] opening a spreadsheet loads Object

I've seen this when using _javascript_ links.  Add return false to the link.

>From newsgroups:

The "_javascript_:" pseudoprotocol is used to replace the current
page contents with the value of the _javascript_ _expression_ which
follows it.  The window.open() method returns a window object,
and so that's what replaces the current page.  The String
representation of most objects is "[object]".

What you want is probably something more like:

<a href="" title="Sitemap" false;">Sitemap</a>

That's a very vague question :P

Is CF creating the spreadsheet?  If so, is it using any libraries (apache
POI, native CSV, XML)?

Is it just a native .xls file?  If that's the case, then you may have a
mime-type incorrectly configured on the webserver.

When I click on a link to a spreadsheet file on the server Excel starts,
loads a blank spreadsheet with the title 'Object' and then opens the sheet
in the browser.

Is there a simple way to stop this?

Thanks
